Hullform - Plate Development

Hullform's surface analysis tools allow you to review the developability of a hull design, from almost anywhere in the program, with only a few keystrokes. You can display the sections of the developed hull and the shape of the flattened-out developed surface (as below), zoom in on areas of concern to see how to fix them, and plot or print out the final results.

Below is a view of a rolled-out bottom plate, for a planing hull.

Naturally, you can output your result to a DXF file, for further engineering work.

If your design includes a rounded stem, this is included faithfully in the calculated surface. The program uses the established Kilgore algorithm, and many trials by Hullform users have confirmed that the developed surfaces are not only accurate, but also relatively simple to generate.

You can also plot and write out the rolled-out form of the transom or any defined stringer (See Stringer Calculations)
